D-backs offer exclusive Spring Training presale to Tucson residents

Fans to receive a 50 percent discount during one-day offer this Friday

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that Tucson residents will receive 50 percent off all 2012 Spring Training games at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick which are purchased during an exclusive one-day offer this Friday.

The offer, which is available at dbacks.com/spring, will take place from 10 a.m. MT until midnight this Friday, January 13.

The promotional code SRFTUCSON must be used in conjunction with a Pima County zip code when purchasing the tickets online.

Tickets for all 33 Spring Training games at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick go on sale to the general public on Saturday, January 14.

Last season the D-backs and Rockies set the all-time Major League Baseball Spring Training attendance record by drawing a combined 359,308 fans. The D-backs were the top attendance draw in the Major Leagues, averaging 11,161 fans in 17 games at Salt River Fields, finishing ahead of the Yankees (10,854). Arizona’s total attendance last spring ranked as the third-highest in Cactus League history, while the club’s average attendance at Salt River Fields ranked fifth. The team achieved sellouts in 11 of its 17 home games.

Pitchers and catchers will report to Salt River Fields on Feb. 20 with their first workout on Feb. 21. Position players will report on Feb. 25 with the first full-squad workout on Feb. 26.

Workouts are open to the public, and fans may park in the Desert Lot on the north side of the complex, which is best accessed via 90th Street off of Via de Ventura.

The D-backs will open the Cactus League exhibition season on March 3 with split-squad contests versus the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick and against the San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium.
