Seventh Annual D-Backs Fantasy Camp Makes Debut

PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks will host the seventh annual D-backs Fantasy Camp at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick beginning this Sunday, Jan. 15. The six-day, six-night camp will make its debut at the Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, after formerly being held in Tucson the previous six seasons. The state-of-the-art facility will host over 70 participants during the week with events that include daily games, instruction from D-backs staff, an awards banquet and will and culminate in a game against the D-backs’ staff participating in the camp.

D-backs Special Assistant to the President & CEO Luis Gonzalez, Third Base Coach Matt Williams and Broadcaster Mark Grace will headline the D-backs’ staff members participating in the camp, along with D-backs alumni Jay Bell, Steve Finley, Reggie Sanders, Mike Fetters, Greg Colbrunn, Dan Carlson, Greg Swindell and current D-backs Bullpen coach Glenn Sherlock. Hall of Fame broadcaster Joe Garagiola Sr. and Buck O’Neil Lifetime Achievement Award winner Roland Hemond are also scheduled to appear.

Participants of the fantasy camp will be privy to all aspects of the Major League Baseball experience, both on and off the field. On the field, camp participants will report for the first time to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, the D-backs’ new Spring Training facility located in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale, Ariz. Each individual will be provided two personalized, authentic uniforms for games and batting practice, coaching and instruction from former D-backs players and personalized lockers with clubhouse service from the actual D-backs clubhouse and training staff.

The registration fee also includes a six-night stay at the luxurious Talking Stick Resort, daily breakfast and lunch meals, transportation to and from the fields, the opportunity to converse with D-backs greats, and an awards banquet where each team acknowledges their Most Valuable Player.
