The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has signed free agent RHP LISALVERTO BONILLA to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp.
Bonilla, 27, split the 2017 season between Triple-A Louisville and the Cincinnati Reds, posting a mark of 3-4 with a 3.59 ERA in 18 games/8 starts with the Bats (25ER/62.2IP). He appeared in 10 games with the Reds, making four starts across five stints and one trip to the disabled list in August (right elbow). The Samana, Dominican Republic native recorded his first career complete game on May 13 at San Francisco. He began his career in the Phillies organization in 2008, debuted with the Texas Rangers in 2014 and missed the 2015 campaign recovering from right elbow reconstruction.
