Owners unanimously grant Commissioner's extension

Major League Baseball Club owners have completed a unanimous vote on the two-year extension of the term of Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig, it was announced today.

At the quarterly owners meetings on January 12th, a 10-day period commenced during which votes could be recorded by return ballot.  The period has concluded with a 30-0 vote in support of the extension, which runs through December 31, 2014.

Commissioner Selig said: "It is a great honor to have the unanimous support of the Clubs.  I am thankful for their confidence, and I look forward to representing and continuing the remarkable growth of this great game in the years ahead."
