Contest Now Open for Phillies Fans to Live in the "MLB Fan Cave"

Entries now being accepted at MLBFanCave.com; Deadline: Tuesday, January 31, 2012

The MLB Fan Cave is back for 2012 – and this year, multiple fans are being sought to live the dream baseball experience through a unique contest hosted by Major League Baseball.

Entries are now being accepted until Tuesday, January 31 at MLBFanCave.com. Winners selected will spend nearly every waking moment in the Fan Cave during the 2012 season where they will meet and interact with Major League All-Stars, celebrities, entertainers and musicians. To date, more than 17 MLB players and All-Stars – including Phillies’ Ryan Howard, Shane Victorino and Hunter Pence – have already committed to visit contestants and take part in this unique web series.

Multiple contestants selected will begin the season in the Fan Cave with the goal of watching all 2,430 MLB games on a large wall of big screen televisions while chronicling their experiences online through videos, blogs, and social media. Along the way, they will compete with one another over the course of the season in a series of challenges, with fans online helping decide who gets to stay in the Fan Cave and who gets eliminated with one eventual winner crowned before the end of the World Series.

MLB will provide housing and a stipend for winners while in the Fan Cave, which is a 15,000 square foot location at 4th Street and Broadway in the heart of New York City’s Greenwich Village that was formerly the home of Tower Records. The MLB Fan Cave is a unique event space mixing baseball with music, popular culture, media, interactive technology and art. It also serves as a content factory providing baseball fans with a constant flow of online video and conversation via social media. The MLB Fan Cave has more than a quarter of a million combined followers on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/mlbfancave) and Twitter (@MLBFanCave).
