Marlins announce three of their retail shops in West Plaza at Marlins Park

West Plaza will be open to the public year-round

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins announced three of the four retail shops to be located in the West Plaza at Marlins Park.  These local concepts include, La Baguette, Holiday Bakery and YoBlendz. The fourth location should be announced in the next few weeks.

The West Plaza at Marlins Park is a major change from the character of the old Orange Bowl. The idea behind the West Plaza is to reconnect Little Havana and create an urban center.  The West Plaza is unlike any other place in Miami, changing as the roof is rolled over the park below. When the roof is open, the West Plaza will be a covered area the size of three and a half football fields in the heart of Miami. The West Plaza will be open to the public 365 days a year and will be used for events, concerts, meetings and more.

By featuring these new retail locations, Marlins Park will create a street edge that connects to the surrounding neighborhood. Fans will enjoy comfortable dining, shopping as well as special events and more.

“The Marlins are committed to supporting local brands while offering the best products, which is why we have chosen to partner with La Baguette, Holiday Bakery and YoBlendz,” said Claude Delorme, Marlins Executive Vice President, Operations and Events. “The revitalization of the Little Havana community has also been a priority for the Marlins and we believe these retail shops will help the economic development of the area by having them open 365 days.”

“We are so excited to be part of Marlins Park,” said Jose Blanco, Holiday Bakery Owner. “Our bakery will have traditional Hispanic sandwiches, pastries, tamales and of course Cuban Coffee, that will accentuate the Latin flair that makes Marlins Park such a unique and special place.”

“The vivaciousness of this city is unmatched and the energy of Miamians is truly unique, which is why we are so proud to have La Baguette Sandwicherie Sports Bar and Restaurant as a part of Marlins Park,” said Mr. Hernandez, Owner of La Baguette. “La Baguette has been providing Miamians a Fun, Fresh and Fast Menu for over two years at our Calle Ocho/Brickell location and is exited to bring our new La Baguette Sports Bar Restaurant concept to the ballpark. We are known for our amazing sandwiches like the prosciutto and fresh Mozzarella and its Turkey and melted brie. Also, our salads will exceed everyone’s expectations together with our fresh fruit smoothies or our natural veggie juices. We look forward to sharing our products with Miami Marlin’s fans while they attend the games and also the neighbors of the ballpark all year round.”

According to Adam Ogden, founder and CEO of YoBlendz, “We are thrilled to partner with the Marlins on this tremendous community development and revitalization project. To be among the first retailers to be a part of this unique new concept is very exciting. We look forward to providing our fresh, YoBlendz self-serve frozen yogurt to fans and visitors throughout the coming years.”
