Blue Jays acquire Randal Grichuk

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have traded RHP DOMINIC LEONE and RHP CONNOR GREENE to the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS for OF RANDAL GRICHUK.
GRICHUK, 26, appeared in 122 games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017 posting a batting average of .238, with 22 HR, 59 RBI and an OPS of .758. The Rosenberg, Texas, native appeared in 57 games in LF, 55 games in RF and five in CF. GRICHUK has a career batting average of .249, with 66 HR, 182 RBI, and an OPS of .785 in four seasons with the Cardinals.
LEONE, 26, in 2017 posted an ERA of 2.56, with 81 SO and a 1.05 WHIP over of 70.1 IP. Throughout his four seasons in the Majors with Seattle (2014-2015), Arizona (2015-2016) and Toronto (2017), LEONE has posted a 3.48 ERA over 178.2 innings with 183 SO and a WHIP of 1.32.
GREENE, 22, spent the 2017 season with the Blue Jays AA affiliate the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, posting an ERA of 5.29, with 92 SO, and a WHIP of 1.69 in 132.2 IP. The former 2013 seventh round pick has posted a 4.04 ERA, with 377 SO, and a WHIP of 1.44 during his time in the minors.
