Twins sign right-handed pitcher Lance Lynn to one-year contract

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have signed right-handed pitcher Lance Lynn to a one-year contract worth $12 million.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have signed right-handed pitcher Lance Lynn to a one-year contract worth $12 million.
Lynn, 30, has played six seasons with St. Louis, from 2011-17, missing 2016 recovering from ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow. He made 33 starts for the Cardinals last season, going 11-8 with a 3.43 ERA (186.1 IP, 71 ER), 78 walks and 153 strikeouts, his 33 starts tying him for the National League lead. The 2012 NL All-Star has made 183 career appearances (161 starts), going 72-47 with a 3.38 ERA (977.2 IP, 367 ER), 369 walks and 919 strikeouts. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound right-hander was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the first round (39th overall) of 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Mississippi.
Lynn is scheduled to start tomorrow's game against Baltimore at Hammond Stadium. He will wear uniform number 31.
