Brewers Ticket Sales at an All-Time High

Article Tailgate Day Sales Eclipse 101,000

MILWAUKEE – This week’s snow was no deterrent for Brewers fans as hundreds lined up outside of Miller Park for the “Arctic Tailgate” to be among the first to purchase individual tickets to Brewers games for 2012.

As of 3 pm today, the Brewers have sold a total of 1,587,000 tickets for 2012, which marks a franchise record for most tickets sold through the first day of individual-game ticket sales date. The previous record was set in 2009 when 1,555,000 had been sold through the first day of single-game sales (which occurred on Feb. 29 of that year). These totals include season seat, group and individual ticket sales.

Today alone, the Brewers eclipsed 101,000 tickets sold for single games in 2012. That marks the second-highest total in franchise history for the first day of single-game ticket sales. Last year, the Brewers sold 95,000 tickets on the first day.

In addition, the Club announced that three games have already sold out of individual game tickets. This marks just the fourth time in team history that a regular season game other than Opening Day has sold out on the first day of availability.

“Coming off of last year’s run deep into the playoffs, we’ve had a very busy off-season as fans have purchased tickets in record numbers,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “Today was a tremendous start to our single-game sales process, and we’re once again reminded that Brewers fans support their team with incredible enthusiasm.”

The April 6 Home Opener was the game that people targeted early today, but availability was primarily limited to standing room, obstructed and single tickets only.

“We continue to see more fans moving into Season Seat plans and as those plans become more popular, the available single-game tickets for Opening Day are in very short supply,” Schlesinger said.

Fans still have the opportunity to obtain tickets to the Home Opener and all of the high demand games with the purchase of a partial or full Season Seat plan. Information on Season Seat plans is available by calling 414-902-HITS.

Games that no longer have inventory remaining for single-game buyers include the following (standing room only, single seats and obstructed view may remain):

April 6 versus the Cardinals

April 21 versus the Rockies

May 12 versus the Cubs

The top five single-day sales totals have all occurred on the first day of individual game sales (listed below):

#1        2009104,000 sold

#2        2012 – 101,000 sold

#3        2008 – 98,000 sold

T#4     2011 - 95,000 sold

T#4     2010 – 95,000 sold

As part of today’s Arctic Tailgate activities, the first 2,000 fans at the Box Office received a free Arctic Tailgate t-shirt, a Klement’s hot dog and a Pepsi.

Tickets remain on sale at the Miller Park Box Office, through brewers.com, by phone (414-902-4000) and at all tickets.com outlets.
