Padres agree to terms with 20 players on 2012 contracts

All players on the 40-man roster under contract for 2012 season

PEORIA, AZ – The San Diego Padres today announced that they have agreed to terms with 20 players on contracts for the 2012 season. Executive Vice President/General Manager Josh Byrnes made the announcement.

Agreeing to terms were right-handed pitchers Anthony Bass, Brad Brach, Andrew Cashner, Ernesto Frieri, Erik Hamren and Nick Vincent, left-handed pitchers Jose De Paula, Cory Luebke, Juan Oramas and Josh Spence, infielders Everth Cabrera, James Darnell, Logan Forsythe, Jesus Guzman, Andy Parrino, Edinson Rincon and Jeudy Valdez and outfielders Kyle Blanks, Rymer Liriano and Blake Tekotte.

Already under contract for the 2012 season were infielder Yonder Alonso, catcher Yasmani Grandal and outfielder Cameron Maybin who agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension, with a sixth-year club option, earlier in the month. 

With today’s announcement, all players on the Padres 40-man roster are now under contract for the 2012 season.
