16th annual Salute to Armed Forces Night at Safeco Field

The Seattle Mariners and The Boeing Company pay tribute to the men and women serving our nation in the military on Saturday, April 14, with the 16th Annual Boeing Salute to Armed Forces Night.

The Seattle Mariners and The Boeing Company pay tribute to the men and women serving our nation in the military on Saturday, April 14, with the 16th Annual Boeing Salute to Armed Forces Night. Game time is 6:10 p.m. against the Oakland Athletics. The pregame ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m. The first 15,000 fans through the gates will receive a Mariners cap, courtesy of Boeing.
Specially priced tickets are available online only at Mariners.com/Military. Prices are $13 for View, $28 for Main and $46 for Club Level. Deadline to purchase tickets through this offer is 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 13. Those who purchase through the special offer can redeem their tickets for a commemorative coin, while supplies last, at Section 339 before the end of the third inning.
Service persons from six branches of the military will throw out ceremonial first pitches:

Mariners Chairman and Managing Partner John Stanton and Chairman Emeritus John Ellis will present commemorative plaques to high ranking members of the military branches. Receiving plaques will be:
• Lt. General Gary J. Volesky, U.S. Army
• Rear Admiral Gary Mayes, U.S. Navy
• Rear Admiral David Throop, U.S. Coast Guard
• Colonel Anthony Babcock, Commander of the 62nd Airlift Wing Maintenance Group, U.S. Air Force (on behalf of Colonel Rebecca J. Sonkiss, Commander of the 62nd Airlift Wing)
• Colonel Paige Abbott, Washington National Guard
• Major Ricardo Flores, U.S. Marine Corps
Taps will be performed pregame by Staff Sergeant Ricardo Rafael, U.S. Army; the National Anthem and God Bless America (mid 7th inning) will be performed by Technical Sergeant Freddie Garza Jr., U.S. Air Force Reserve. The colors will be presented by U.S. Joint Service Honor Guard and a large American flag (45'x75') will be unfurled in centerfield by Gold Star Families, Veterans & Friends. Captain Don Wood (Ret.), a World War II and Korean War veteran, will deliver the game ball to home plate, and nine members of the Wounded Warrior Project will be introduced pregame as honorary Mariners at each of the nine positions on the field and will meet their Mariners counterparts.
Representatives of the U.S. Military branches as well as Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Reserve Officers Association, and USO Northwest will be introduced during the pregame ceremony and line up along the first and third base lines.
Salute to Those Who Serve, Presented by Holland America Line
The Mariners and Holland America Line will honor Robert Parkhurst, Korean War veteran, midway through the fourth inning in the Salute to Those Who Serve spotlight.
VFW & USO Benefit
Representatives of V.F.W. Post 2995 will be collecting donations outside the gates of Safeco Field to help provide care packages for troops serving overseas.
Fans in attendance will also have the chance to support the U.S.O. through the Mariners Care Saturday silent auction at Section 128 on the Main Level. Items available for bid include autographed baseballs, game-used items and other memorabilia. Bidding will be open through the 6th Inning. Major League Baseball will match all donations from the auction.

Once again this season, the Seattle Mariners offer discount tickets for members of the U.S. Military, presented by EQC. Military personnel receive 10% off select Main, Terrace and View Level seats for all remaining Mariners home games. More information about the discount is available at Mariners.com/Military.
