Beyond the Diamond returns in 2018

The Milwaukee Brewers today announced the return of the organization's community initiative, Beyond the Diamond, which features a series of community outreach events that will take place throughout the season.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers today announced the return of the organization's community initiative, Beyond the Diamond, which features a series of community outreach events that will take place throughout the season. The program is built around a partnership between players, coaches, alumni, Brewers Wives and team personnel, working hands-on in the community. The community events are funded in part by Brewers Community Foundation and focus on non-profits providing quality programming in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs.
Spearheaded by the Brewers Community Relations Department in partnership with Brewers Community Foundation, Beyond the Diamond events this year will include a house build, a charity softball game, a bowling event, dinner deliveries and much more. Each month during the season, players, coaches, alumni, Brewers Wives and team personnel will be divided into groups to attend the following community outreach events:
April 24 - Milwaukee Rescue Mission - Staff will serve dinner to residents at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
May 22 - Habitat for Humanity Build Blitz - Ryan Braun will help kick off the Habitat for Humanity Build Blitz.
May 24 - Habitat for Humanity Build - Front office staff and Brewers Wives will help build a new home for Habitat for Humanity. The house is sponsored by Brewers Community Foundation and Ryan Braun.<p.>May 8 - Brewers Wives Meal Preparation - Brewers Wives will prepare a hot meal for military families who are residing at the Fisher House while their loved one is being cared for at the VA Hospital.</p.>
May 25 - School Visit - Players and Brewers Wives will visit Bruce Guadalupe School to talk to kids about the importance of staying in school and other life lessons.
June 11 - Salvation Army Lunch Pack - Players, coaches, Brewers Wives and staff will assist The Salvation Army with packing lunches in support of their summer lunch program.
June 2 - Girls on the Run 5k - Brewers Wives will participate in the Girls on the Run 5k, helping to inspire 3rd through 8th grade girls to be joyful, healthy and instill confidence using fun, interactive curriculum that creatively integrates running.
June 12 - Brewers Wives Charity Softball Game - Brewers Wives will host the Cubs Wives in a friendly competitive charity softball game at Helfaer Field. Proceeds from the game will support the Milwaukee and Chicago RBI Softball programs.
July 12 - Hunger Task Force - Members of the Brewers staff will assist the Hunger Task Force with assembling stock boxes, which provide a healthy and nutritious box of supplementary food to low-income senior citizens.
July 20 - Wisconsin Humane Society - Brewers Wives will attend the Wisconsin Humane Society's People & Animals Learning (PAL) graduation, handing out diplomas to kids who complete the dog training course.
July 23 - Children's Hospital Visit - Players, coaches, alumni and Brewers Wives will make bedside visits and donate memorabilia to kids at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
July 24 - Wives Dinner Delivery - Brewers Wives will prepare lunches for the families at the Ronald McDonald House in support of their Lunch-2-Go program.
August 5 - Brewers Bowling Event - Fans can enjoy a unique opportunity to pal around on the pins with host Jeremy Jeffress and his teammates, all while helping raise money for The Epilepsy Foundation.
August 7 - Wisconsin Humane Society - Staff will take part in the Wisconsin Humane Society's PAL Train Dog Day with kids from underserved areas. The program teaches how to properly treat dogs.
August 9 - The Salvation Army - Brewers Wives will serve bag lunches to kids in underserved neighborhoods through the Salvation Army's Feed the Kids summer meal program.
August 25 - Wives Jerseys Off Their Backs Event - Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket for $5 and win the jersey off a player's back immediately after the game. The players will also sign the jersey before giving it to each fan who wins the raffle. Proceeds will support Aurora Health Care Abuse Response programs.
August 28 - Ronald McDonald House Charities - Brewers front office staff will pack lunches for the families who are residing at the Ronald McDonald House during their child's medical care.
September 25 - Reading Is Fundamental - Brewers front office staff will motivate children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to children at a local school. Reading is Fundamental program is sponsored by Brewers Community Foundation.
