Twins to honor Minnesotan Olympians and Paralympian during home games in May

The Minnesota Twins today announced updated plans to honor Minnesotan Olympians and Paralympian from the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

The Minnesota Twins today announced updated plans to honor Minnesotan Olympians and Paralympian from the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.
 
On Tuesday, May 15 prior to the Twins taking on the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:10 pm, the Twins will honor Afton-native and Olympic gold-medal winning Cross-Country skier Jessie Diggins with a ceremonial first pitch.
 
On Friday, May 18 prior to the Twins taking on the Milwaukee Brewers at 7:10 pm, the Twins will honor gold-medal winning Paralympic snowboarder Mike Schultz from St. Cloud, MN, with a ceremonial first pitch.
 
On Saturday, May 19 prior to the Twins taking on the Milwaukee Brewers at 6:10 pm, the Twins will honor some of the Twins Territory-born women from the U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey team with goalie Maddie Rooney throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Other players in attendance will include Danielle Cameranesi, Lee Stecklein, Kelly Pannek and Sidney Morin.
 
Earlier this season, the Twins honored the Olympic gold-medal winning US Men's Curling Team on Thursday, April 5 with the ceremonial first pitch.
 
Additionally, on May 15 the University of Minnesota at Duluth Bulldogs Men's Hockey Team will be recognized on-field for the 2018 NCAA Championship prior to the game against the Cardinals at 7:10 pm. On May 21, prior to the Twins game vs. Detroit at 7:10 p.m., the Twins will celebrate the Minnesota United FC Theme Night with United team captain Francisco Calvo throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
