This week, the Phillies return to host the Atlanta Braves (May 21-23). Below are the top five things to know.
Starting at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 21, the Phillies will host Baseball 101, the ultimate field day for female fans including an interactive clinic with the Phillies coaches, a "Meet the Phillies" player surprise, a mock press conference with manager Gabe Kapler and a chat with the Phillies TV broadcasters. A portion of the proceeds benefit Phillies Charities, Inc. This is the only Baseball 101 of the season and limited tickets are still available here.
Every Monday is Miller Lite Monday. Fans 21+ are invited to enjoy a discounted price on Miller Lite around the ballpark during Monday's 7:05 p.m. Phillies game.
On Monday at 6:30 p.m., the Phillies are honoring the area's top five All-Star Students on-field at the inaugural All-Star Student Night before the 7:05 p.m. Phillies game. This program was created to pay tribute to students who are going above and beyond in and out of the classroom. Those being honored have been chosen through an essay contest asking teachers to nominate current students who stand out for academic excellence, community service and positive attitude.
During the game on Tuesday, Pennsylvania Army National Guard Sgt. Patrick Lewis from Philadelphia, PA will be honored as the Rothman Hometown Hero and change a base during the third inning of the 7:05 p.m. Phillies game. In his 11 years of service, Sgt. Lewis has been awarded such accomplishments as the Combat Infantryman Badge, Recruiting and Retention Badge, two Army Commendation Medals, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Overseas Training Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, National Defense Service Medal and two Pennsylvania Service Ribbons.
Use the Force for good at the Phillies fifth annual Star Wars™ Night benefitting Stand Up to Cancer on Wednesday, May 23, before and during the 7:05 p.m. Phillies game. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars™ characters.
Fans should be on the lookout for special appearances from Star Wars™ characters all around the ballpark. More Star Wars™ fun features a special escort of the ceremonial first ball, themed player headshots on PhanaVision and other surprises.
The first 6,000 fans that purchase tickets through the Theme Nights Page will receive a limited-edition Phillies Han Nola Bobble Head; plus, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Stand Up to Cancer.
Gate Openings: Ashburn Alley opens two hours prior to game time; all gates open one and a half hours prior to game time.
