Twins place Mauer on disabled list

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed first baseman Joe Mauer on the 10-day disabled list with a cervical strain and concussion-like symptoms.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed first baseman Joe Mauer on the 10-day disabled list with a cervical strain and concussion-like symptoms. To replace Mauer on the 25-man roster the Twins have recalled outfielder Jake Cave from Triple-A Rochester.
Cave, 25, was acquired by the Twins on March 16 in exchange for minor league right-handed pitcher Luis Gil and was optioned to Triple-A Rochester from major league camp on March 22. The left-handed hitting Cave hit .265 (35-for-132) with seven doubles, one triple, one home run and 17 RBI in 35 games for the Red Wings this season.
He is in the Twins lineup today, batting 7th and playing centerfield and will be making his major league debut.
