MIAMI - The Miami Marlins begin a three-game homestand on Friday, with the opener of a three-game set against the Washington Nationals. The Marlins have won three of their last four home series.

• Teacher of the Year winners from Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties will be honored in an on-field pregame ceremony.

Broward Best in Class Recognition - Saturday, May 26 vs. the Nationals
• Six Broward County Public School students, who all had perfect attendance this school year, will be recognized on field in a pregame ceremony as winners of the 2018 Broward Best in Class Award.
Pitch, Hit and Run Competition - Saturday, May 26 vs. the Nationals
• Participants will partake in a variety of drills at Marlins Park, beginning at 9 a.m., to gauge skill sets such as arm strength, arm accuracy, speed, etc., and have the opportunity to advance to the National Finals during MLB All-Star Week in July.

Memorial Day Recognition - Sunday, May 27 vs. the Nationals
• Five Gold Star Families will be honored at Marlins Park in an on-field pregame ceremony. One member from each Gold Star Family - relatives of U.S. military members who lost their lives in battle - will also throw out an honorary first pitch.
