First two Rays vs. Yankees games sold out at Tropicana Field

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — This Saturday’s 7:10 p.m. game between the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees at Tropicana Field is sold out.

With tomorrow’s Opening Day game between the Rays and Yankees already sold out as well, it marks the second time in club history the Rays have sold out their first two home games of the season.   This also occurred in 2009, when their April 13-14 games vs. the Yankees sold out.

For each of the first two games, the only seats remaining are scattered singles and obstructed view.

The Rays have sold out their home opener for seven consecutive seasons.  Tomorrow’s opener sold out on February 29, third earliest in club history after 1998 (December 6, 1997) and 2009 (February 26).
