Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto today announced today the following roster moves:
 
· Mike Morin, RHP, selected from AAA Tacoma.
· Daniel Vogelbach, INF, recalled from AAA Tacoma.
· Juan Nicasio, RHP, placed on 10-day DL (retroactive to June 7) with right knee effusion.
· Dan Altavilla, RHP, placed on 10-day DL (retroactive to June 7) with right elbow UCL sprain.
 
Vogelbach (#20) and Morin (#64) will be in uniform and available for tonight's (7:10 pm ET / 4:10 pm PT) game at the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.
 
Seattle's Major League, 40-man roster, is now at 40 players.
 
Morin, 27, will be making his Mariners debut when he appears in a game. He is 2-1, with 3 saves and a 3.24 ERA (9 ER, 25.0 IP) in 20 games with AAA Tacoma this season. He has limited left-handed hitters to a .196 batting average against (10x51).
 
Morin was claimed off waivers by Seattle from Kansas City on Dec. 8, 2017. He was outrighted to AAA Tacoma on March 14. Mike has appeared in parts of four big league seasons with Los Angeles-AL (2014-17) and Kansas City (2017), compiling a 10-8 mark with 1 save and a 4.61 ERA (87 ER, 170.0 IP) in 183 games. He's struck out 160 while walking 48.
 
Vogelbach, 25, is in his third stint with Seattle this season. He went 1-for-6 with 1 run and 3 walks in 3 games with the Mariners from May 22-27. Overall this season, he is batting .200 (12x60) with 6 runs, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 5 RBI and 10 walks in 22 games with the Mariners. He was named to his first career Opening Day roster prior to being optioned to AAA Tacoma post-game on April 25. In 32 games with the Rainiers this season, he is hitting .304 (34x112) with 9 doubles, 10 home runs, 24 RBI and 28 walks with only 18 strikeouts. He has on-base percentage of .444 and is slugging .652 (1.095 OPS) in Tacoma.
 
Vogelbach made his Major League debut with Seattle in 2016, appearing in 8 games in September. He was acquired from Chicago-NL on July 20, 2016 along with Paul Blackburn (rhp) for Mike Montgomery (lhp) & Jordan Pries (rhp). In parts of 3 seasons with Seattle, he is batting .190 (19x100) with 6 runs scored, 3 doubles, 2 home runs, 7 RBI, 2 HBP and 14 walks in 46 games. Vogelbach was originally selected by Chicago-NL in 2nd round of 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Bishop Verot High School (Fort Myers, FL). In eight minor league seasons, he is a career .287 (727x2529) hitter with 394 runs, 152 doubles, 7 triples, 110 home runs, 462 RBI and a .393 on-base percentage in 701 career games. Vogelbach was a mid-season All-Star Selection in the Pacific Coast League and won the Rainiers Offensive Player of the Year Award and the Community Service Award in 2017.
 
Nicasio, 31, is 1-3 with an AL-high 14 holds and a 5.34 ERA (17 ER, 28.2 IP). Juan ranks fourth among all MLB relievers with an 18.50 strikeout to walk ratio (37 SO, 2 BB). Prior to allowing 4 earned runs without retiring a batter June 6 at Houston, he had not allowed a run in his previous 8 games (May 18-June 5). In those 8 games, he tossed 9.0 innings, while allowing just 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and 16 strikeouts (29 batters faced). Seattle is 25-5 when he appears in a game this season.
 
In 2017, Nicasio tied for the NL lead with a career-high 76 appearances and was T9th in NL in holds (21), 12th among relievers in WHIP (1.08) and 14th in ERA (2.61). He has appeared in parts of 8 Major League seasons with Colorado (2011-14), Los Angeles-NL (2015), Pittsburgh (2016-17), Philadelphia (2017), St. Louis (2017) and Seattle (2018) after originally signing with Colorado as a non-drafted free agent on Aug. 21, 2006. He has a career mark of 38-40 with 7 saves and a 4.58 ERA (335 ER, 658.1 IP) in 299 career games (82 starts).
 
Altavilla, 25, is making his second trip to the disabled list this season. He was previously on the DL May 1-12 with right AC joint inflammation. In addition he was optioned to AAA Tacoma May 23-27. In 22 relief appearances with the Mariners this season, he is 3-2 with 5 holds and a 2.61 ERA (6 ER, 20.2 IP). He has struck out 23 and walked 15 while limiting opponents to a .162 (11x68) average against. In his last 9 games (May 12-June 6), Dan is 1-0 with 1 hold and a 0.00 ERA (8.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 6 BB, 7 SO), including tossing a shutout inning June 6 at Houston in his last outing. He went 1-1 with 2 holds and a 1.29 ERA (1 ER, 7.0 IP) with 9 strikeouts and 3 walks in his first 7 outings of the season (3/29-4/14), but was 1-1 with 2 holds and an 8.44 ERA (5 ER, 5.1 IP) with 7 strikeouts and 6 walks in 6 games from April 17 to April 29 prior to being placed on the DL for the first time this season.
 
Over parts of 3 Major League seasons with the Mariners (2016-current), he is 4-3 with a 3.28 ERA (29 ER, 79.2 IP) with 85 strikeouts and 36 walks in 78 relief appearances.
