A's recall RHP Bassitt from Nashville; Option OF Martini to Nashville

The Oakland A's recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt from Triple-A Nashville and optioned outfielder Nick Martini to Nashville, the club announced today.

The Oakland A's recalled right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt from Triple-A Nashville and optioned outfielder Nick Martini to Nashville, the club announced today.
 
Bassitt joins the A's for the third time this year but has yet to appear in a game for Oakland. He was previously with the club from April 20-25 and May 26. The 29-year-old right-hander will be making his first Major League appearance since undergoing UCL reconstruction surgery on May 6, 2016. Bassitt's last appearance was a start and loss on April 28, 2016 at Detroit (3.2 ip, 10 h, 7 r, 7 er, 3 bb, 5 so). He is 2-3 with a 6.10 ERA and .314 opponents batting average in 10 games, including seven starts, with Nashville this year and has allowed just two home runs in 38.1 innings.
 
Martini was selected from Nashville June 6 and went 0-for-9 in three games with Oakland in his Major League debut. He is batting .299 with three home runs and 23 RBI in 51 games with the Sounds.
