Royals sign 24 selections from 2018 Major League Draft

The Kansas City Royals tonight announced that the club has signed 24 of the 43 selections from last week's three-day Major League Draft.

The Kansas City Royals tonight announced that the club has signed 24 of the 43 selections from last week's three-day Major League Draft. All 24 new members of the organization will report immediately to mini-camp in Surprise, AZ, where they will work out prior to receiving assignments for the remainder of the 2018 minor league season.
The signees include two of the five players taken on the first day of the draft, the second compensation pick (34th overall), left-handed pitcher Daniel Lynch, out of the University of Virginia; second round selection (58th overall), right-handed pitcher Jonathan Bowlan from Memphis. The Royals also signed their third round pick (94th overall), outfielder Kyle Isbel from the University of Nevada/Las Vegas.
Others who have inked their first professional contracts with the Royals include: LHP - Austin Cox (5th round from Mercer); RHP - Zach Haake (6th round from Kentucky); RHP - Tyler Gray (7th round from Central Arkansas); Outfielder - Jackson Lueck (8th round from Florida State University); LHP - Austin Lambright (10th round from Central Oklahoma); Catcher - Michael Emodi (11th round from Creighton); RHP - Christian Cosby (14th round from Chapman Univ.); RHP - Kyle Hinton (16th round from Univ. of Delaware); RHP - Noah Bryant (17th round from Georgia Highlands College); Catcher - Nathan Eaton (21st round from Virginia Military Institute); LHP - Bryce Hensley (22nd round from University of North Carolina/Greensboro); LHP - Josh Dye (23rd round from Florida Gulf Coast); Outfielder - Hunter Strong (25th round from Central Arkansas); RHP - Daniel James (26th round from University of Texas/Arlington); LHP - Derrick Adams (27th round from Jacksonville State); First Baseman - Rhett Aplin (28th round from Florida State); RHP - Andres Nunez (29th round from Florida International); Infielder - Kyle Kasser (30th round from University of Oregon); Catcher - William Hancock (31st round from Central Arkansas); Infielder - Brhet Bewley (32nd round from University of San Diego); LHP - Ted Cillis (33rd round from Hofstra University).
