PHILADELPHIA -- The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Harrison Musgrave from the bereavement list and optioned left-handed pitcher Sam Howard to Triple-A Albuquerque.
• Musgrave, 26, has gone 0-1 with a 2.65 ERA (17.0 IP, 5 ER), eight walks and 11 strikeouts in 10 appearances since having his contract selected by the Rockies on April 23 … made his Major League debut against San Diego on April 23 and pitched one scoreless inning of relief with one strikeout … the Nutter Fort, W.V., native has gone 31-19 with a 4.02 ERA (413.2 IP, 185 ER) in 80 Minor League games, 78 starts, since 2014. • Howard, 25, made his Major League debut against Arizona on June 10 and allowed one hit over one inning pitched … in nine starts with Triple-A Albuquerque is 3-4 with a 4.68 ERA (42.1 IP, 22 ER), 20 walks and 33 strikeouts … a third-round draft pick by Colorado in 2014 out of Georgia Southern University, has a career Minor League record of 29-33 with a 3.68 ERA (513.0 IP, 210 ER) in 99 games, 97 starts, since 2014.
