Arlington, Texas - The Texas Rangers today announced that infielder Hanser Alberto has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Texas will make a corresponding roster move on Friday, when left-handed pitcher Yohander Mendez will be recalled from Round Rock to make his first major league start against the Colorado Rockies.
Alberto was recalled from Round Rock on June 10 and was 0-for-3 in two games. Overall, Alberto is 1-for-11 in five games over two stints with the Rangers in 2018.
