Mets place Jay Bruce on DL, recall RHP Tim Peterson

The New York Mets today announced that the club has placed outfielder Jay Bruce on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to June 18, with a sore right hip and recalled RHP Tim Peterson from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Peterson will wear #63 and will be available for tonight's game in Colorado.

FLUSHING, N.Y. -- The New York Mets today announced that the club has placed outfielder Jay Bruce on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to June 18, with a sore right hip and recalled RHP Tim Peterson from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Peterson will wear #63 and will be available for tonight's game in Colorado.
Peterson, 27, has posted a 2.08 ERA (one earned run/4.1 innings) in three games with the Mets. He made his major league debut on May 30 at Atlanta. The 6-1, 215-pounder was with New York from May 30-June 14.
He was 0-1 with seven saves and a 3.64 ERA (12 earned runs/29.2 innings) in 24 games with Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.
