The Pittsburgh Pirates placed catcher Francisco Cervelli on the seven-day concussion disabled list Friday.
To take Cervelli's place on the 25-man active roster, catcher Jacob Stallings has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis. This is Stallings' second stint with Pittsburgh this season. He was also with the team from June 10-18, but did not appear in a game. Stallings will wear uniform #58.
Per approval by Major League Baseball and the MLBPA, Cervelli was placed on the seven-day concussion disabled list. He reported symptoms to the medical staff after the game Thursday night. He was examined by an independent neurologist who recommended a period of rest of at least seven days, and will be monitored daily by the medical staff. The Pirates will provide updates as new information becomes available.
