The Colorado Rockies announced Saturday that they have recalled infielder Pat Valaika from Triple-A Albuquerque and have optioned right-handed pitcher Yency Almonte to Triple-A.
 
• Valaika, 25, will be making his third stint on the Rockies' active roster, having been optioned most recently on May 26 … batted .211 (16-for-76) in his most recent stint with Albuquerque with eight runs, two doubles, one triple, five home runs, 15 RBI, five walks and 17 strikeouts … on the season with the Rockies, is batting .120 (9-for-75) with two runs scored, four doubles, one RBI, six walks and 22 strikeouts across 37 games with 16 starts … was a member of his first career Opening Day roster before being optioned to Triple-A for the first time on May 8 … in parts of three seasons with Colorado (2016-18), the Valencia, Calif., native has hit .221 (61-for-276) with 33 runs scored, 16 doubles, 14 home runs, 43 RBI, 13 walks and 83 strikeouts in 160 career games played with 47 starts. • Almonte, 24, was recalled on Thursday for his first stint on the Major League roster and made his Major League debut that evening, pitching a hitless inning of relief with a sacrifice fly … made his second appearance last night and allowed two unearned runs on one hit and one walk with his first Major League strikeout … has made nine starts with Albuquerque this season, going 1-4 with a 6.27 ERA (33.0 IP, 23 ER) … in 109 career Minor League appearances, including 101 starts, has gone 36-34 with a 4.09 ERA (552.0 IP, 251 ER), 194 walks and 453 strikeouts … was acquired by the Rockies via trade with the Chicago White Sox in exchange for right-handed pitcher Tommy Kahnle, Nov. 24, 2015 … originally selected by Los Angeles-AL in the 17th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.
