Twins sign 2018 first-round pick Trevor Larnach

The Minnesota Twins announced today the signing of their first-round pick, outfielder Trevor Larnach from Oregon State University, whom they selected with the 20th overall pick in the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

The Minnesota Twins announced today the signing of their first-round pick, outfielder Trevor Larnach from Oregon State University, whom they selected with the 20th overall pick in the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. 
The 21-year-old just completed his junior season at Oregon State University. At 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, Larnach hit .327 (70-for-214) with 13 doubles, 17 home runs and 65 RBIs in 58 games for the Beavers this season. In three seasons at OSU, he combined to hit .298 (138-for-463) with 30 doubles, 20 home runs and 116 RBIs in 146 games. He went on to hit .417 (15-for-36) with five doubles, one triple, one home run, nine RBIs and 10 runs scored in eight games during the 2018 College World Series, leading the Beavers to the title.u5:p
In 2017, Larnach was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention and named to the Corvallis Regional All-Tournament Team. A graduate of College Park High School in Pleasant Hill, Calif., Larnach was named a First-Team All-State and All-League as a junior and senior, and was rated No. 328 nationally among high school prospects by Perfect Game. Larnach was originally selected by San Diego in the 40th round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft but did not sign. u5:p
Larnach will report to Rookie-level Elizabethton of the Appalachian League.u5:p
