Cubs pitcher De La Cruz suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that pitcher Oscar De La Cruz of the Chicago Cubs organization has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Furosemide, a Diuretic and Masking Agent, in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that pitcher Oscar De La Cruz of the Chicago Cubs organization has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Furosemide, a Diuretic and Masking Agent, in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension of De La Cruz, a 40-man roster player who is currently on option to Double-A Tennessee of the Southern League, is effective immediately.
