D-backs reinstate Alex Avila from the 10-day disabled list

The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated C Alex Avila from the 10-day disabled list (strained right hamstring). Following last night's game, the D-backs optioned RHP Silvino Bracho to Triple-A Reno.

The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated C Alex Avila from the 10-day disabled list (strained right hamstring). Following last night's game, the D-backs optioned RHP Silvino Bracho to Triple-A Reno.
 
Avila, 31, is hitting .124 (13-for-105)/.240 OBP/.219 SLG with a double, 3 home runs, 7 RBI and 16 walks in 45 games this season. His 3.34 catcher ERA ranks fourth in the NL among catchers with at least 200.0 innings caught, behind Raffy Lopez/SD (3.04), Francisco Pena/STL (3.11) and teammate Jeff Mathis (3.13). 
 
Bracho, 25, has gone 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA (3 ER in 15.2 IP), .151 opponent average and 22 strikeouts in 13 games with Arizona this season.
