Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
 
· Gordon Beckham, INF, recalled from AAA Tacoma.
· Nick Rumbelow, RHP, recalled from AAA Tacoma.
· Félix Hernández, RHP, placed on 10-day DL (retroactive to July 8), with lower back stiffness.
· John Andreoli, OF, optioned to AAA Tacoma (July 9).
 
Beckham, 31, hit .206 (7x34) with 1 run, 1 double, 1 RBI, 3 walks and 1 stolen base in 12 games with the Mariners from May 14 to May 31. In 57 games with AAA Tacoma before and after his stint in Seattle, he's hit .318 (67x211) with 13 doubles, 1 triple, 7 home runs and 33 RBI with a .418 on-base percentage and a .488 slugging percentage (.906 OPS).
 
The 6-foot, 190-pound utility infielder has appeared in 23 games with the Mariners over the course of the last 2 seasons (2017-current), batting .196 (10x51) with 3 runs, 1 double, 1 RBI, 4 walks and 2 stolen bases.
 
In parts of 10 Major League seasons with Chicago-AL (2009-14, 2015), Los Angeles-AL (2014), Atlanta (2016), San Francisco (2016) and Seattle (2017-c), he is a career .239 (758x3170) hitter with 174 doubles, 5 triples, 74 home runs and 336 RBI in 976 career games. The native of Atlanta, GA, was a 1st round selection (8th overall) by the Chicago White Sox in the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Georgia.
 
Rumbelow, 26, posted a 4.91 ERA (4 ER, 7.1 IP) with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in 6 relief appearances with the Mariners from June 14 to July 7. He has not pitched since being optioned back to AAA July 7. Prior to being recalled, he recorded 3 scoreless relief appearances of 1.0 inning apiece with AAA Tacoma. Rumbelow began the season on the AAA Tacoma disabled list with a brachial plexus injury before being reinstated on June 5.
 
The 6-foot, 190-pound right-hander was acquired by the Mariners from New York-AL in exchange for minor leaguers JP
Sears (lhp) and Juan Then (rhp) on Nov. 18, 2017. Rumbelow split the 2017 season between AA Trenton and AAA
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where he was a combined 5-1 with 6 saves and a 1.12 ERA (5 ER, 40.1 IP) in 25 relief appearances. He averaged 10.04 strikeouts-per-9.0-innings (45 K, 40.1 IP) in 2017, while allowing just 21 hits and 11 walks for a 0.79 WHIP (11 BB, 21 H, 40.1 IP). He held opposing batters to a .150 (21x140) average against and did not allow a home run.
 
The native of Bullard, TX, was originally selected by New York-AL in the 7th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft
out of Louisiana State University. He made his Major League debut with the Yankees in 2015, making 17 relief appearances and posting a 1-1 record with a 4.02 ERA (7 ER, 15.2 IP) with 15 strikeouts and 5 walks. In 2016 he made 1 appearance at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre prior to being placed on the minor league disabled list on April 11 and missing the remainder of the season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on April 19.
 
Hernández, 32, is 8-7 with a 5.13 ERA (60 ER, 105.1 IP) in 19 starts with the Mariners this season. His 19 starts are tied for most in the Majors. Hernández has allowed 3 earned runs or fewer in each of his last 5 starts (June 14-current), 6 of his last 7 and in 13 of his 19 starts, overall.
 
Hernández has spent entire pro career with Seattle. He's a 6-time All-Star (2009, 2011-15), 2-time ERA champ (2010, 2014) and 2010 AL Cy Young Award winner. Félix is 168-121 with a 3.28 ERA (950 ER, 2607.2 IP) in 394 career starts with 25 complete games, 11 shutouts and 1 perfect game. He holds the Mariners all-time career records for wins (168), starts (394), quality starts (254), innings pitched (2607.2) and strikeouts (2,429).
 
The Valencia, VZ, native was signed as a international free agent by Seattle at age 16 on July 4, 2002. He made his MLB debut at the age of 19 years, 118 days. He's the 3rd-youngest player to debut in Mariners history (2nd-youngest pitcher) .
 
Andreoli, 28, has had two brief stints in Seattle: May 23-28 and July 7-9. He made his Major League debut with the Mariners on May 23 at Oakland after being selected from AAA Tacoma prior to the game. In his debut, he went 1-for-3 with a walk and made a sliding catch in right field to rob a base hit in the 8th inning. Overall this season with the Rainiers, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound outfielder is batting .283 (64x226) with 41 runs, 14 doubles, 4 triples, 3 home runs, 25 RBI, 33 walks, 14 stolen bases and a .380 on-base percentage in 60 games. He was on the Rainiers disabled list from April 22 to May 2 with a sprained finger on his right hand.
 
Andreoli was signed by Seattle as a minor league free agent on Dec. 8, 2017. He spent the past three seasons (2015-17) with AAA Iowa in the Chicago Cubs system. Last year, he hit .244 (105x430) in 119 games with 81 runs, 24 doubles, 8 triples, 14 home runs and 26 stolen bases. He was T1st in the Pacific Coast League in steals, T10th in triples and 11th in runs.
 
The Worchester, MA, native was drafted by Chicago-NL in the 17th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Connecticut. In 8 minor league seasons (2011-current), he's appeared in 744 games, hitting a combined .269 (715x2662) with 123 doubles, 43 triples, 37 home runs and 245 RBI with 242 stolen bases.
