Colorado Rockies reinstate infielder DJ LeMahieu from 10-day disabled list

The Colorado Rockies announced Thursday that they have reinstated infielder DJ LeMahieu from the 10-day disabled list (oblique strain) and have optioned infielder Garrett Hampson to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Colorado Rockies announced Thursday that they have reinstated infielder DJ LeMahieu from the 10-day disabled list (oblique strain) and have optioned infielder Garrett Hampson to Triple-A Albuquerque.
•    LeMahieu, 30, was placed on the disabled list on July 21, his third stint on the disabled list this season … prior to 2018, had never been on the disabled list … is batting .278 (84-for-302) with 52 runs, 22 doubles, eight home runs, 34 RBI, 23 walks and five stolen bases in 72 games with the Rockies this season … in parts of seven seasons with Colorado, the two-time All-Star has batted .301 (948-for-3154) with 460 runs scored, 151 doubles, 29 triples, 42 home runs, 317 RBI, 263 walks and 74 stolen bases in 862 games … in his career with Chicago-NL (2011) and Colorado (2012-18), LeMahieu has batted .300 (963-for-3214) with 463 runs, 153 doubles, 29 triples, 42 home runs, 321 RBI, 264 walks and 74 stolen bases across 899 career games. •    Hampson, 23, was recalled July 21 and made his Major League debut that night in Arizona in a start at second base … recorded his first career hit, a double, off Zack Godley in the fifth inning … played seven games (six starts) in his first Major League stint, and batted .300 (6-for-20) with one run, one double, one triple, two RBI, four walks and one stolen base … the Reno, Nev., native was originally selected by Colorado in the third round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft out of Long Beach State.
