Rockies reinstate Senzatela from 10-day disabled list

ATLANTA - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela from the 10-day disabled list (right shoulder inflammation) and have optioned infielder Pat Valaika to Triple-A Albuquerque.

ATLANTA - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Antonio Senzatela from the 10-day disabled list (right shoulder inflammation) and have optioned infielder Pat Valaika to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Senzatela, 23, was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 5 (retroactive to Aug. 2), his second career stint on the DL and second of the season … also placed on the 10-day DL on July 13 with a blister on his right middle finger before being reinstated July 22 … in five starts this season, is 2-2 with a 3.60 ERA (30.0 IP, 12 ER), 11 walks and 23 strikeouts … prior to his first start of the season on July 3, made 10 relief appearances and went 2-1 with a 6.23 ERA (17.1 IP, 12 ER), six walks and 14 strikeouts … since his Major League debut with Colorado on April 6, 2017, the Valencia, Venezuela, native is 14-8 with a 4.65 ERA (182.0 IP, 94 ER), 64 walks and 139 strikeouts across 51 games with 25 starts.
Valaika, 25, has batted .150 (17-for-113) with seven runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, four RBI, nine walks and 30 strikeouts in 57 games, 25 starts across three stints with the Rockies this season … in parts of three seasons with Colorado (2016-18), the Valencia, Calif., native has hit .220 (69-for-314) with 38 runs scored, 16 doubles, 16 home runs, 46 RBI, 16 walks and 91 strikeouts in 180 career games played with 56 starts.
The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
