Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they plan to select the contracts of catcher Chris Gimenez and left-handed pitcher Andrew Vasquez from Triple-A Rochester prior to tomorrow night's game at Texas. They will also recall outfielder Johnny Field and right-handed pitcher Tyler Duffey from Rochester and will activate right-handed pitcher Matt Belisle from the 10-day disabled list.
 

Gimenez, who was recently acquired from the Cubs for Bobby Wilson, spent most of the season at Triple-A Iowa, hitting .204 (41-for-201) with two home runs, 12 doubles and 18 RBI over 68 games. Additionally, he appeared in 12 games for the Cubs this season. Gimenez spent the entire 2017 season with the Twins, playing in 77 games, hitting .220 (41-for-186) with nine doubles, seven home runs and 16 RBI.
 

Vasquez, 24, went a combined 1-2 with a 1.30 ERA (69.1 IP, 10 ER), 21 walks and 108 strikeouts in 40 games (1 start), between Single-A Ft. Myers, Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Rochester. Vasquez was originally drafted by the Twins in the 32nd round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft out of Westmont College.
 

Field, 26, played in 63 games for the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this season, hitting .213 (36-for-169) with nine doubles, six home runs and 14 RBI before being claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Indians in July. After a short stint with Triple-A Columbus (five games), the Twins claimed Field off waivers in August and he split the month between Rochester and Minnesota (10 games).
 

Duffey, 28, appeared in 11 games for the Twins earlier this season, going 1-2 with a 6.35 ERA (17.0 IP, 5 ER) with two walks and 13 strikeouts. Over 31 games at Triple-A, he posted a 2.30 ERA (59.0 IP, 19 ER) while recording 63 strikeouts and three saves.

Belisle, who has missed the last 22 games due to right knee chondromalacia, has appeared in 27 games for the Twins this season, going 1-1 with a 7.71 ERA (30.1 IP, 26 ER) with nine walks and 23 strikeouts.
 

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Twins have transferred left-handed Adalberto Mejía to the 60-day disabled list. Mejía has been on the disabled list since August 10 with a left wrist strain.
 

The Twins now have 30 players on their major league roster.
