The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the Major League and 40-man roster:

Added INF JOSH DONALDSON (#27) to the active Major League roster.

Activated OF RAJAI DAVIS (#26) from the 10-day Disabled List.

Recalled C ERIC HAASE (#38) from AAA Columbus.

Selected the contract of RHP JON EDWARDS (#46) from AAA Columbus.

Designated RHP EVAN MARSHALL for assignment.

Haase, 25, has spent the entire season to date in Columbus, batting .236 (102-for-433) with 24 doubles, 3 triples, 20 home runs and 71 RBI in 120 games (.288/.443/.732). He is currently tied for fourth in the International League in home runs, sixth in RBI, eighth in total bases (192) and 11th in slugging pct. (.443). The I.L. Midseason All-Star 20 homers are tied for second-most in the Indians organization and his 71 RBI are fourth-highest. He has thrown out 48.5% (33-of-68) of baserunners attempting to steal this season. Eric was the club's seventh round (218th overall) selection in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Divine Child High School (Dearborn, MI) and will be making his debut at the Major League. 

Edwards, 30, was signed as a free agent by Cleveland to a Minor League contract on March 22 after missing the 2016 and 2017 campaigns recovering from reconstructive right elbow surgery. The Keller, Texas native split the season between AA Akron and AAA Columbus, going 2-1 with 4 saves and a 3.63 ERA in 34 relief appearances (39.2IP, 29H, 16ER, 15BB, 56SO, .197 avg). He appeared in 31 games for Texas and San Diego in 2014 and 2015, posting a 4.32 ERA (12ER, 25.0IP) after beginning his professional career in 2006 as an outfielder in the St. Louis Cardinals organization and converting to pitcher in 2012 with Texas. His last Major League game came on October 4, 2015 at Los Angeles (NL) with SD.

The Major League roster consists of 29 players.
