For one weekend each month throughout the 2018 season, fans at Kauffman Stadium have been treated to a unique and memorable experience as the club has shown what has made the Royals, our fans and Kansas City so special over the last 50 seasons. During these themed weekends, Royals alumni participate in special in-stadium recognitions and select events throughout the community. Fans also enjoy many unforgettable in-park video retrospectives, special guests, autograph opportunities, along with one-of-a-kind 50th Season giveaway items. SEPTEMBER 15 & 16: ROYALS IN THE COMMUNITY
Part of what makes the Royals organization, players and fans so special is the unmistakable spirit of giving back. On September 15 and 16 against the Minnesota Twins, the club will celebrate the Glass family, the Kauffman family, players and fans who have provided so much to the community over the years.  
Saturday, September 15 -- Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.
Alumni Scheduled to Appear: Dennis Leonard, Royals Hall of Fame pitcher John Mayberry, Royals Hall of Fame first baseman Brian McRae, former Royals outfielder Hal McRae, Royals Hall of Fame outfielder/designated hitter Les Norman, former Royals outfielder Cookie Rojas, Royals Hall of Fame second baseman Willie Wilson, Royals Hall of Fame outfielder Janie Quisenberry Stone, widow of Dan Quisenberry, Royals Hall of Fame pitcher
Giveaway: The first 10,000 fans will receive a 50th Season Canvas Collage, courtesy of Brown & Crouppen. 
Sunday, September 16 -- Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.
The Club will recognize the commitment to the community by the franchise's two ownership families.

Royals in the Community Week
Leading up to the September 50th Season celebration weekend, Royals in the Community Week will highlight various pillars of the Royals and Royals Charities outreach. Please see below for more details.
Monday, September 10     
Event: Members of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League will appear before the game against the Chicago White Sox. They will sign autographs for fans in the Royals Hall of Fame and be honored on the field prior to first pitch.
Time and Location:
5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Autographs in Royals Hall of Fame
6:55 p.m.: On-field presentation
Tuesday, September 11     
Event: In partnership with the USO and FOX Sports Kansas City (FSKC), Royals greats George Brett, Bret Saberhagen, Reggie Sanders and Mike Sweeney, along with broadcaster Joel Goldberg, will visit American troops in the Middle East September 11-14. The group will visit four locations and various soldiers, including members of the Missouri National Guard.  
In conjunction with Armed Forces Night, the Royals and FSKC will honor members of the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade who are currently deployed to the Middle East as part of the "This One's For You" broadcast. More than 500 family members of deployed soldiers will enjoy a tailgate in the Hall of Fame Pavilion tent prior to the game courtesy of Aramark and receive special t-shirts from FSKC. Brett, Saberhagen, Sanders, Sweeney and Goldberg will watch the game with the troops in the Middle East and be featured throughout the game, which will be featured on FSKC and the Armed Forces Network.

Wednesday September 12     
Event: The Royals will host 50 athletes from Special Olympics KC Metro for a softball game presented by Price Chopper on the field at Kauffman Stadium. They will play a friendly softball game in left field featuring select Royals players as honorary coaches. Following the game, the athletes will receive a box lunch courtesy of Aramark.
Time and Location:
11:55 a.m.: Introduction and Game in Left Field 
12:45 p.m.: Group photo and autographs on the field 
1 p.m.: Recipients will receive lunch courtesy of Aramark near Gate D 
Event: To commemorate 25 years of the Royals partnering with the Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City, more than 200 former honorees and their families will be special guests at the game. During a special presentation prior to the game, a select few will be recognized alongside Larry and Ruth Moore, long-time Dream Factory volunteers, who have been involved with the partnership from the beginning. 
Thursday, September 13    
Event: Current Royals players and wives will visit The University of Kansas Health System to distribute Starlight Children's Foundation Royals gowns to patients. Shadow Buddies will also be present to hand out Royals Charities buddies.
Time and Location:  
11 a.m. to noon: Visit at Hospital (4000 Cambridge Street, Kansas City, KS 66160)
Event: Royals Charities will reveal wheelchair accessible golf carts for the Kansas City Zoo purchased with a $50,000 grant to Variety Children's Charity of Kansas City during pregame ceremonies at The K.
Friday, September 14    
Event: Royals Charities, alongside Royals players and alumni, will visit Literacy KC and Operation Breakthrough. The foundation will present the nonprofit organizations with a $50,000 grant to go toward the Literacy KC/Operation Breakthrough building campaign. Raised Royal children's books will also be distributed.

Saturday, September 15     
Event: Royals outfielder Alex Gordon will appear at the Alex Gordon Classic Fastpitch, presented by Price Chopper. Softball teams, ages 8 through 18, from throughout the Midwest raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and participate in the tournament at the Blue Valley Recreation Center. During a special presentation, participants will learn more about children impacted by cancer and hear from Gordon, who will recognize them for their efforts.  
Time and Location:  
9:30 a.m.: Presentation to participating teams (Blue Valley Recreation Activity Center: 6545 W. 151st Street, Overland Park, KS 66223)
Event: Royals alumni will appear alongside Kansas City, Mo., Mayor Sly James at the Mayor's Play Ball Clinic, presented by Price Chopper. The event will take place at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy and will feature 75 boys and girls taking part in various baseball activities.
Time and Location:
1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Kansas City Urban Youth Academy (1622 E. 17th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64108)
Event: Royals Charities, in partnership with Aramark, will present a check to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation during pregame ceremonies at Kauffman Stadium representing all proceeds raised through Royals Charities throughout the season and proceeds raised by Aramark through in-stadium lemonade sales.
Sunday, September 16
Event: Royals Charities will announce a $50,000 Royalty Fields grant to the Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kan., Parks and Recreation Department to help renovate a baseball field at City Park in KCK during pregame ceremonies at Kauffman Stadium.
