The Oakland A's announced today that catcher Bruce Maxwell has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Nashville. Maxwell was designated for assignment on Saturday when roster expanded.
Maxwell batted .182 with a home run and six RBI in 18 games with Oakland before he was optioned to Nashville June 7. He hit .219 with a home run and 17 RBI in 51 games with the Sounds.
