Outfielder Gregory Polanco was examined today by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Dr. Altchek's examination confirmed the initial assessment of an acute shoulder dislocation as a result of Polanco's slide into second base last Friday, September 7.
Left shoulder surgery has been recommended to stabilize the shoulder and Gregory is currently in the process of that surgery.
We will provide additional details of the surgical procedure with an estimated recovery at the appropriate time.
