D-backs select Randall Delgado from Triple-A Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks selected RHP Randall Delgado from Triple-A Reno and placed RHP Clay Buchholz (right elbow flexor strain) on the 60-day disabled list.

The Arizona Diamondbacks selected RHP Randall Delgado from Triple-A Reno and placed RHP Clay Buchholz (right elbow flexor strain) on the 60-day disabled list. The D-backs have 35 players on their active roster and the 40-man remains at 40.
 
Delgado, 28, has appeared in 6 games for the D-backs this season, going 2-0 with a 5.14 ERA (4 ER in 7.0 IP), .250 opponent average and 2 strikeouts. He was designated for assignment by Arizona on July 25, released on July 31, and re-signed with the club on a Minor League contract on August 18. He was 0-1 with a 2.00 ERA (4 ER in 18.0 IP), .169 opponent average and 14 strikeouts in 13 appearances (1 start) for Reno this season, including a 0.93 ERA (1 ER in 9.2 IP), .147 opponent average and 7 strikeouts in 5 games after returning to the organization.
