The Orioles -- in partnership with Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources and the Sarasota Film Festival -- invite families from across Sarasota County to wear their favorite Halloween costumes and come to Ed Smith Stadium on Saturday, October 13 for a free evening of fun, safe activities, including a family-friendly movie.
The fourth annual Howl-O-Ween Movie Night Spectacular includes children's games, activities and photo opportunities with the Oriole Bird beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a costume parade around the bases. At 7:00 p.m., guests will enjoy a free movie - Hocus Pocus (rated PG) -- screened on the outfield video board. Guests may bring blankets to sit on the outfield grass for the movie.
Parking and admission are free. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for All Faith's Food Bank. OneBlood will be conducting blood donations, and donors will receive a free, Halloween-themed T-shirt. For event details, visit www.orioles.com/Sarasota.
The Howl-O-Ween Spooktacular is part of Sarasota 365, a host of initiatives through which the Baltimore Orioles and OriolesREACH demonstrate the ballclub's year-round engagement with the Greater Sarasota community. An independent analysis commissioned by Sarasota County Government concluded that the Orioles generate approximately $97 million in annual economic impact back to taxpayers and residents. By marketing Sarasota to fans in the Mid-Atlantic region, operating a year-round athletic training facility, producing entertainment and sporting events, partnering with charitable causes, and hosting and often subsidizing youth sports tournaments and activities, the Orioles demonstrate an abiding commitment to their Florida home that goes far beyond baseball.
