Oakland A's right-handed reliever Blake Treinen has been named American League Reliever of the Month for September. It is his second career Reliever of the Month award after winning for his May performance.
Treinen, 30, finished the month of September going 3-0 with 4 saves and a 0.00 ERA (0 ER, 13.1 IP) with 9 strikeouts and an .089 (4-for-45) opponent batting average in 11 relief appearances. 
He recorded his 100th strikeout of the season on Saturday, becoming the first pitcher in Major League history to record 30+ saves, strike out 100+ batters and post a season ERA under 1.00. He also has the lowest ERA ever for a pitcher with a minimum of 75.0 innings pitched in a season.
In May, he finished the month going 1-0 and 10-for-10 in save opportunities with a 0.59 ERA in 15.1 innings of work spanning 14 appearances. He logged 19 strikeouts and five walks, limiting opposing batters to a .151 batting average against.
