Royals announce roster moves

Right-handed pitcher Brandon Maurer has elected free agency in lieu of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A. Additionally, outfielder Paulo Orlando and infielder Ramón Torres have been sent outright to Triple-A, and will become minor league free agents.

The Kansas City Royals announced several roster moves on Friday.
Right-handed pitcher Brandon Maurer has elected free agency in lieu of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A. Additionally, outfielder Paulo Orlando and infielder Ramón Torres have been sent outright to Triple-A, and will become minor league free agents.
Three others have been reinstated from the 60-day disabled list, including: infielder Cheslor Cuthbert, outfielder Jorge Soler and right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn.
Following today's transactions, Kansas City has 37 players on its Major League Reserve List.
