The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced the team's 2019 promotional schedule in advance of tomorrow's Sheetz MTO® Six-Pack on-sale, the first opportunity to secure single-game tickets to games in 2019.
Six Packs will go on sale Friday at noon to the general public for all games at pirates.com/6packs, and fans can select any six games, including Opening Day at PNC Park, scheduled for 1:05 p.m. on Monday, April 1 vs the St. Louis Cardinals. The Pirates have 37 promotional dates scheduled for 2019, including 18 dates of promotional giveaways for the first 20,000 fans, 12 Kids Days and six Zambelli Fireworks nights.
The fan promotions will start immediately as all fans in attendance for the 2019 Home Opener at PNC Park will receive a Pirates 2019 magnetic schedule, courtesy of PNC Bank. The schedule is highlighted by the return of Free Shirt Fridays throughout the season; July 6 vs the Milwaukee Brewers is the return of the popular Pirates Hawaiian shirt giveaway; and on Saturday, August 17 vs the Chicago Cubs the Pirates will pay tribute to Pittsburgh icon Fred Rogers with the Pirates cardigan giveaway day.
During the 2019 season the Pirates will celebrate the 1979 World Series Championship team. The weekend of July 19-21 will be packed full of alumni visits, on-field ceremonies and more in honor of the 40th anniversary of the We Are Fam-a-lee team.
The promotional calendar also features five bobblehead dates, including:
• Star Wars Night Bobblehead on Saturday, May 4 as the Pirates take on the Oakland Athletics at 7:05 p.m. The Pirates will celebrate the popular "May the Fourth be with You" day with a Pirates Jedi Master-themed bobble.
• As part of the Pirates' African American Heritage celebration, fans attending the Saturday, June 1 contest against Milwaukee Brewers at 4:05 p.m. will receive a Chris Archer bobblehead.
• A Pirates Vintage Bobblehead will be given out on Saturday, July 20 vs the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:05 p.m. A throwback to some of the first bobbleheads created for sports teams will complement the team's 1979 celebration weekend.

• Saturday, September 28 will be Steve Blass dual bobblehead night as the Pirates host the Cincinnati Reds at 7:05 p.m. The 2019 season marks Steve Blass' 60th year of involvement with the Pirates and his 34th behind the microphone as a color commentator. Blass began his career with the Pirates when he signed his first professional contract in 1960 and in honor of Steve's 60 years with the organization, the Pirates will distribute a dual player/broadcaster bobblehead.
