Louisville Slugger announced Thursday night on MLB Network that Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado, shortstop Trevor Story and right-handed pitcher German Márquez have been named winners of the Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger Award.
This is Arenado's fourth consecutive Silver Slugger Award and the first Silver Slugger for both Story and Márquez. This is the second season in franchise history that three Rockies players have been awarded the Silver Slugger Award, the first time since 1996 when Ellis Burks, Andres Galarraga and Eric Young each won a Silver Slugger.

Arenado:
·   Arenado's four Silver Slugger Awards are tied with Todd Helton (2000-03) for the most in franchise history.
·   His four Silver Slugger Awards are tied with Adrian Beltre and Matt Williams for the third-most among third baseman, trailing Wade Boggs (eight) and Mike Schmidt (six). Arenado, Schmidt (1980-84) and Boggs (1986-89) are the only third baseman to win the award in at least four consecutive years.
·   Arenado is the ninth player since 1980, the first year of the Silver Slugger Award, to win both the Silver Slugger and the Gold Glove in four or more consecutive seasons. Schmidt (1980-84) is the only other third baseman to accomplish the feat. Other players: Ivan Rodriguez (1994-99), Barry Bonds (1990-94), Ken Griffey Jr. (1996-99), Ryne Sandberg (1988-91), Kirby Puckett (1986-89), Dave Winfield (1982-85) and Dale Murphy (1982-85).
·   In 2018, Arenado led the National League with 38 home runs, the third time in his career he has led or tied for the league lead in home runs, the first time he won the home run crown outright. He became the 12th player in NL history to lead the league in home runs three or more times, the first since Mike Schmidt.
·   Was among league leaders in home runs (38-1st), multi-hit games (57-1st), RBI (110-T2nd), slugging percentage (.561-3rd), extra-base hits (78-T3rd), runs (104-5th), doubles (38-T8th) and batting average (.297 (10th).
·   Became the second player in Major League history to record at least 35 home runs and 35 doubles in four consecutive seasons (also: Albert Belle, 1993-96).
·   Has four consecutive seasons with at least 75 extra-base hits, the second third baseman in MLB history to have for such seasons (Chipper Jones), the first to do it in four-straight seasons.
Story:
·   Story joins Troy Tulowitzki (2010-11) as the only Rockies shortstops to win a Silver Slugger Award.
·   Ranked among National League leaders in extra-base hits (85-1st), home runs (37-2nd), slugging percentage (.567-2nd), doubles (42-T4th), RBI (108-T4th), stolen bases (27-6th), multi-hit games (51-T7th) and hits (174-10th).
·   Became the first shortstop in MLB history to record at least 40 doubles, 30 home runs and 25 stolen bases … was the 16th player (19th time) to reach those numbers, the third Rockies player to do so (Larry Walker, 1997 and Ellis Burks, 1996).
·   Joined Ernie Banks (1957-58, 1960) and Honus Wagner (1903-04, 1907-09) as the only shortstops to lead the National League in extra-base hits … his 85 extra-base hits were the second-most by a shortstop in NL history behind Jimmy Rollins' 88 extra-base hits in 2007.
·   One of three NL shortstops (min. 100 starts) to hit at least 37 home runs in a season, joining Ernie Bank (1955, 1957-60) and Rich Aurilia (2001).
·   His 108 RBI were the most by an NL shortstop since Ernie Banks recorded 117 RBI in 1960.
Márquez:
·   Márquez joins Mike Hampton (2001-02) as the only pitchers in franchise history to win a Silver Slugger Award.
·   Led all Major League pitchers with 18 hits, a .300 batting average and a .350 slugging percentage.
·   His 18 hits were the most by a pitcher since Zack Greinke recorded 19 hits in 2013 and the most by a Rockies pitcher since Mike Hampton (21) and Jason Jennings (19) in 2002.
