The New York Mets announced today that the club claimed outfielder-first baseman Jordan Patterson off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. The Mets currently have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
Patterson, 26, hit .271 (112-413) with 23 doubles, 26 homers, 76 RBIs and a .367 OBP in 118 games with Albuquerque (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League last year. He was ranked the 16th-best prospect in the Rockies organization in 2018 according to MLB.com.
He appeared in 10 games with Colorado in 2016, going 8-18 (.444) with two RBIs.
Patterson batted .283 (137-484) with 32 doubles, 26 home runs and 92 RBIs in 131 games with Albuquerque in 2017.
He was originally a fourth-round pick in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft by the Rockies. Patterson has hit .285 (705-2,471) with 163 doubles, 107 home runs, 407 RBIs and a .365 OBP in 678 career Minor League games.
