A's agree to terms with C Chris Herrmann on one-year contract

The Oakland A's have agreed to terms with catcher Chris Herrmann on a one-year contract for the 2019 season, the club announced today.

The Oakland A's have agreed to terms with catcher Chris Herrmann on a one-year contract for the 2019 season, the club announced today.
Herrmann spent most of the 2018 season with Seattle but played in just 36 games while batting .237 with two home runs and seven RBI. He also walked 10 times for a .322 on-base percentage. The 31-year-old left-handed hitter also batted .257 with six home runs, 24 RBI and a .416 on-base percentage in 42 games with Triple-A Tacoma.
Herrmann was drafted by Minnesota in the sixth round in 2009 and spent parts of four seasons with the Twins from 2012-15. He also played for Arizona in 2016 and 2017 and is a .205 career hitter with 24 home runs and 95 RBI in 340 games over seven seasons in the majors. Herrmann saw his most extensive big league action in 2017 with the Diamondbacks when he batted .181 with 10 home runs and 27 RBI in 106 games.
