The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have acquired minor league infielder Daniel Ozoria from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for right-handed pitcher John Curtiss.
Ozoria, 18, split the 2018 season between Rookie-Level AZL Angels and Rookie-Level Orem, combining to hit .195 (39-for-200) with three doubles, one triple, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .248 on-base percentage in 51 games.
The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native was signed by the Angels as an undrafted free agent in August of 2016 and has played in 111 career games over two seasons in the Los Angeles system, hitting .222 (93-for-419) with nine doubles, four triples, 34 RBI, 46 runs scored, 27 stolen bases and a .293 on-base percentage.
Curtiss, who was designated for release or assignment on Monday to make room for right-handed pitcher Blake Parker, appeared in 17 career games for the Twins over the last two seasons, going 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA (15.0 IP, 12 ER), six walks and 17 strikeouts.
