The Colorado Rockies announced Thursday that they have agreed to a one-year contract with third baseman Nolan Arenado to avoid arbitration. The Rockies have now agreed to contracts with all eight arbitration-eligible players (LHP Tyler Anderson, 3B Nolan Arenado, RHP Chad Bettis, RHP Jon Gray, RHP Scott Oberg, LHP Chris Rusin, SS Trevor Story, C Tony Wolters).
•    Arenado, 27, batted .297 (175-for-590) with 104 runs, 38 doubles, two triples, a National League-leading 38 home runs, 110 RBI, 73 walks and two stolen bases across 156 games for the Rockies in 2018. He captured his sixth consecutive Gold Glove in 2018, surpassing Larry Walker's previous club record of five, and also took home his second consecutive Platium Glove after leading NL third basemen in total chances (430), putouts (104), assists (312), double plays (44), defensive runs above average (8.1) and total zone fielding runs above average (16).
•    Drafted by the Rockies in the second round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, the native of Newport Beach, Calif., has batted .291 (975-for-3,348) with 524 runs, 222 doubles, 25 triples, 186 home runs, 616 RBI, 285 walks and 13 stolen bases across parts of six seasons with Colorado (2013-18). He has led the Major Leagues in RBI twice (130 in 2015, 133 in 2016) has tied for the National League lead in home runs twice (42 in 2015, 41 in 2016), and led the NL in home runs in 2018 with 38.
•    An All-Star each season since 2015 (incuding starts at third base for the National League in both 2017 and 2018), Arenado is the fourth player in Rockies history to be named an All-Star four or more times (also: Dante Bichette, four times; Larry Walker, four times;  Todd Helton, five times; Troy Tulowitzki, five times). His four consecutive Silver Sluggers, 2015-18, are tied with Todd Helton for the most Silver Sluggers in franchise history.
