The San Francisco Giants held their annual Media Open House today to reveal "what's new" at Oracle Park for the 2019 season. The team introduced a number of ballpark enhancements as part of a five-year capital improvement plan, to be completed by the time they celebrate their 25th season at Oracle Park in 2024. They also highlighted promotions and special events, new food offerings and launched a redesigned transportation website to keep fans updated in real time about getting to and from Oracle Park.
Capital Improvements/Videoboard Highlights
This season the game experience will be greatly enhanced with the installation of a brand new videoboard in center field. The $10 million project represents the largest single capital improvement the Giants have undertaken at the park since it opened in 2000. This Mitsubishi Electronic Diamond Vision display will be the park's third, replacing the most recent board, which debuted in 2007. The new board will be more than three times as large (153.28' wide by 70.87' high) with twice the resolution (4,672 x 2,160 pixels) of the former display, which will dramatically enhance the ballpark experience by providing more content, in-depth advanced statistics and higher-quality video. It will also be the first "4K" display in MLB.
Other ballpark enhancements include the opening of The Cloud Club. Located on the Suite Level, The Cloud Club will offer a brand new way to experience premium sports entertainment at Oracle Park. This all-inclusive lounge welcomes those looking for a lively and immersive environment to enjoy the game while entertaining clients, colleagues or friends. The Cloud Club will feature the very best of Oracle Park's food and beverage offerings paired with great views and some of the park's most comfortable seats. The Waterfront is a new social gathering space with great views of the field, the Bay and McCovey Cove. The destination was created by removing the last few rows of bleachers under the scoreboard and is open to all fans. It will be an ideal location for Ballpark Pass holders to gather and will include a new, premium bar set to debut early in the 2019 season. The Blue Shield Field Club has been redesigned with a clean new look with more natural light and a classic, industrial aesthetic. The Lexus Lounge, which was previously the umpires' clubhouse, has been transformed to provide private field level access for the Giants' Lexus Dugout Club customers and to create an exclusive place for them to enjoy food and beverage throughout the game. In addition, the last row of seats in the lower box seating areas around the Promenade Level have been removed to create more space for fans to circulate and socialize.
Opening Day Festivities
The Giants will begin the 2019 season campaign at home when they face the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, April 5. This day, steeped in tradition, will be the final home opener for beloved Manager Bruce Bochy who announced at the start of Spring Training that this will be his final season as the skipper of the Giants. He will retire at the end of the season after 13 years with the club and 25 consecutive years as a big-league manager. The Giants will begin the season-long retirement celebration by honoring the Three-Time World Series Champion Manager during the home opener. The organization will also pay tribute during the pre-game ceremony and throughout the game to some special Forever Giants who recently passed away, including Broadcaster Hank Greenwald, Former Manager Frank Robinson, Former Managing General Partner Peter A. Magowan and Hall of Famer Willie McCovey. Additionally, the team will honor the first responders of the devastating California wildfires that destroyed many parts of the state and will remember the victims of the tragic fires. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 12:45 p.m. Gates will open two and a half hours before first pitch which is set for 1:35 p.m. Tickets for Opening Day are still available at sfgiants.com/tickets.

Tickets
For all single-game ticket purchasers, the Giants have eliminated the print at home ticket and transitioned to mobile only for the 2019 season. Mobile tickets minimize the risk of lost, forgotten and counterfeit tickets and allow fans to access, share and upgrade in one place and scan more quickly than a traditional paper ticket. Fans can access their mobile tickets via the free, recently updated MLB Ballpark app.   There will be Ballpark app ambassadors positioned at all gates to assist fans this season.

Fanatics Partnership
The Giants have entered a 10-year omnichannel retail partnership with Fanatics, the global leader for licensed sports merchandise, which grants Fanatics the rights to operate all Giants Dugout Store locations throughout the Bay Area. Fanatics, which currently runs e-commerce for the Giants through its operation of MLBShop.com, will now create an omnichannel retail experience for Giants fans on game day and beyond, giving them consistency between items and a significantly expanded assortment of products regardless of shopping online, on mobile, at the game or in store.
Corporate Partnerships
In addition to the Oracle naming rights agreement, the team extended a number of longstanding partnerships including renewals with Dignity Health (10-year agreement) and Levi's (5-year agreement). Dignity Health and the Giants made history almost three decades ago when they announced the establishment of an on-site health care facility at the new ballpark. The Giants became the first major league baseball team to house a health center serving the surrounding neighborhood. The Saint Francis Health Center at Oracle Park has served the health needs of the rapidly growing South of Market area, including residents of the South Beach, China Basin and Mission Bay neighborhoods.
The Levi's renewal marks the continuation of this longstanding relationship between two iconic San Francisco institutions. The centerpiece of this partnership is Oracle Park's signature right field wall, known as Levi's Landing. Beginning this season the partnership will include two new features: Levi's 501 Friday Concert Series and the Levi's Playmaker Community Program.
Some of the new partnerships for 2019 include: National Car Rental, Safeway, Keysight Technologies, Gensler and Flor de Cana.
Transportation
As transportation in the Bay Area continues to evolve with new challenges occurring daily, the Giants are committed to communicating with fans and visitors to Oracle Park on a regular basis in order to keep them informed and prepared with the best tools and information possible when planning their trips to and from Oracle Park. The Giants always encourage fans to take public transit, walk or bike to Oracle Park whenever possible. Please go to sfgiants.com/transportation for real time information throughout the season.
