Washington Nationals sponsor and host charity baseball tournament

Inaugural tournament has already raised more than $290,000 for Children's National Medical Center

On Friday, May 25, the Washington Nationals will host the opening ceremony for the Washington Nationals Memorial Day Wood Bat Tournament in partnership with Kyle's Kamp. Nearly 200 youth baseball teams from the Mid-Atlantic region have collectively raised more than $290,000 to benefit the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's National Medical Center.

More than 3,000 youth baseball participants, coaches and families are expected to attend the tournament's opening ceremony at Nationals Park. In addition, the six teams (with players between the ages of 13 - 16) that raised the most money will play against each other at the ballpark leading up to the ceremony. All the teams in the baseball tournament will play on fields across the Washington area throughout the weekend.
