D-backs place Overbay on Paternity List, recall Pollock

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks announced they have placed infielder Lyle Overbay on the Paternity List and recalled outfielder A.J. Pollock from Triple-A Reno, according to D-backs’ Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Overbay, 35, has left the team to be with his wife, Sarah, for the birth of their fourth child. They have three sons, Adam, Alex and Luke. By rule, he will miss a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 3 days.

Pollock, 24, was hitting .348 (40-for-115) with 10 doubles and 14 RBI in 26 games with Reno. In 20 games over a trio of stints with the D-backs, he has batted .229 (11-for-48) with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 4 RBI with the D-backs from April 18-May 18.
