Twins to recall Chris Parmalee

Option Cole De Vries to Triple-A Rochester

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will recall first baseman Chris Parmelee in time for tomorrow night’s game vs. the Chicago Cubs.  In 15 games for the Red Wings this season, Parmelee batted .375 (18-for-48) with four doubles, four home runs, 12 rbi, 13 runs scored and 12 walks.  He also appeared in 27 games for the Twins earlier this season, batting .179 (15-for-84) with five doubles, one triple and three rbi.

To make room for Parmelee on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Cole De Vries to Triple-A Rochester.  De Vries went 1-1 with a 4.20 ERA (15.0 ip, 7 er) with six walks and nine strikeouts in three starts for the Twins.
